Weber warranty & return policy — and how to actually claim it
Every line below is quoted from Weber's own published policy and linked to the source. If something you bought is covered, Owed's agent can draft and send the claim for you.
Warranty
60 monthsstated window
Weber does not warrant a grill for a single period — it warrants each component for its own term, and the terms differ by series. On current Genesis gas grills the cookbox and lid assembly carry 12 years against rust-through and burn-through, stainless steel burner tubes, cooking grates, Flavorizer bars and porcelain-enamelled cast-iron grates carry 10 years on the same basis, the Weber Connect electrical controller carries 3 years, and all remaining parts 5 years. Genesis II series grills are all-parts-10-years excluding normal wear and tear. Weber Griddle runs 5 years on the cookbox, hard cover and stainless burner tubes. The consistent catch across every series is paint: 2 years, and fading or discolouration is excluded even within that. Note also that the covered failure mode for the metal parts is specifically rust-through or burn-through — surface rust that has not perforated the metal is not the same thing, and that distinction decides most rejected claims. Weber states the published terms apply to current year models and are informational only; the Owner's Guide for your specific grill governs. Weber's warranty page also carries a consumer notice about a Consent Order between Weber and the U.S. FTC, which is worth reading before you accept any claim that using non-Weber parts voids your coverage.

What they exclude

- Surface rust that has not rusted through or burned through the component
- Terms shown on the website are informational only — the Owner''s Guide for your specific product governs
How to file
File through Weber Consumer Care, or call Monday to Friday 8am-7pm CT and weekends 9am-6pm CT. Identify your exact series and model first — Genesis, Genesis II, Spirit, Summit and Griddle all carry different terms, and the component matters as much as the grill. Have your Owner's Guide, since Weber says that document, not the website, states the terms that actually apply to your product; you can download a copy if yours is lost. Frame a metal-part claim explicitly as rust-through or burn-through rather than rust, because that is the covered condition.

If they say no
A first refusal is not the end — most claims that get paid are the ones that got answered a second time. The ladder that works:
- Reply in the same thread quoting the exact policy line above, with your order number and the date. Ask for a supervisor or a formal complaint reference.
- Escalate to an executive contact if support stalls — a specific, documented request outperforms an angry one.
- Use your payment rail: a card chargeback for "not as described" or "item not received" (typically within 60 days of the statement under the US Fair Credit Billing Act, and up to 120 days under card-network rules — confirm the exact window with your issuer), or a PayPal dispute.
- For lost or damaged shipments, file a claim with the carrier directly.
- Escalate externally: the selling platform's guarantee, BBB, your state attorney general, or the FTC. Small claims is the last resort.
Owed reads your receipts, tracks every warranty clock, drafts the claim citing the terms above, and follows up until you're paid. Free to start.
Policies change. We re-verify these terms regularly and show the date each was checked, but always confirm current terms on Weber's own site before relying on them. Owed is not a law firm and this page is not legal advice.
