OXO warranty & return policy — and how to actually claim it
Every line below is quoted from OXO's own published policy and linked to the source. If something you bought is covered, Owed's agent can draft and send the claim for you.
Warranty
OXO promises to replace the product or refund you if you are not satisfied. What OXO does not publish is a time limit — the Better Guarantee as written states no window, which is unusual and works in your favour, but it also means the outcome rests on OXO agreeing the fault is a defect rather than wear. Three conditions do the real work. The guarantee applies only to defects in material or workmanship under normal household use, and only when the product was cared for per OXO's Use & Care guidelines. A receipt from the original place of purchase is required for all refunds. And the guarantee expressly does not cover several of OXO's own lines: OXO Brew appliances, select OXO Tot items, bakeware, cookware and knives each fall outside it and carry their own separate warranty terms printed on the packaging or in the instruction manual. Keep the item — OXO asks that you retain all items until a resolution is reached.
In their own words
“If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, we want to hear about it. We’ll replace it or refund you, because we’re here to make it better – guaranteed.”
The OXO Better Guarantee
“This guarantee is only applicable to defects in material or workmanship under normal household use and when cared for according to the Use & Care guidelines we provide.”
The OXO Better Guarantee — conditions
“The OXO Better Guarantee does not apply to OXO Brew appliances, select OXO Tot items, bakeware, cookware and knives. Please see your individual OXO product packaging or instruction manual for more details on the applicable OXO warranty terms.”
The OXO Better Guarantee — excluded lines
“Please retain all items until a resolution is met. A receipt from the original place of purchase is required for all refunds.”
The OXO Better Guarantee — proof and retention
What they exclude
- OXO Brew appliances, select OXO Tot items, bakeware, cookware and knives — these carry separate warranty terms on the packaging or instruction manual
- Anything other than defects in material or workmanship
- Products not used under normal household use
- Products not cared for according to the Use & Care guidelines OXO provides
- Refunds without a receipt from the original place of purchase
How to file
Start a warranty claim from OXO's guarantee page, or contact OXO Consumer Services. Have the receipt from the original place of purchase, which OXO requires for any refund. Do not throw the item away or send it back before you are told to — OXO asks that you retain all items until a resolution is met. If your product is an OXO Brew appliance, an OXO Tot item, bakeware, cookware or a knife, check the packaging or instruction manual instead, because the Better Guarantee does not apply and a different warranty governs.

If they say no
A first refusal is not the end — most claims that get paid are the ones that got answered a second time. The ladder that works:
- Reply in the same thread quoting the exact policy line above, with your order number and the date. Ask for a supervisor or a formal complaint reference.
- Escalate to an executive contact if support stalls — a specific, documented request outperforms an angry one.
- Use your payment rail: a card chargeback for "not as described" or "item not received" (typically within 60 days of the statement under the US Fair Credit Billing Act, and up to 120 days under card-network rules — confirm the exact window with your issuer), or a PayPal dispute.
- For lost or damaged shipments, file a claim with the carrier directly.
- Escalate externally: the selling platform's guarantee, BBB, your state attorney general, or the FTC. Small claims is the last resort.
Owed reads your receipts, tracks every warranty clock, drafts the claim citing the terms above, and follows up until you're paid. Free to start.
Policies change. We re-verify these terms regularly and show the date each was checked, but always confirm current terms on OXO's own site before relying on them. Owed is not a law firm and this page is not legal advice.
