Instant Pot warranty & return policy — and how to actually claim it
Every line below is quoted from Instant Pot's own published policy and linked to the source. If something you bought is covered, Owed's agent can draft and send the claim for you.
Warranty
12 monthsstated window
Instant Pot Brands gives a one-year limited warranty running from the purchase date or the delivery date, whichever is later, on appliances bought from authorized retailers. It covers the original owner only and is not transferable, so a hand-me-down or resale Instant Pot has no coverage. Provided you used the appliance according to the use and care instructions, Instant Pot Brands will at its sole discretion either repair defects in materials or workmanship or replace the appliance — you do not get to choose. If they replace it, the new appliance carries twelve months from the date you receive it rather than a fresh full term tied to the original purchase. Registration is optional and does not reduce your rights, but proof of the original purchase date is mandatory, and Instant Pot Brands may require you to send the appliance back. Liability is capped at the purchase price of a comparable replacement. This version took effect April 1, 2026.

How to file
Contact Instant Pot Brands consumer care with proof of the original purchase date; be ready to ship the appliance back if they ask for it. Registering at instantpot.com/pages/register is optional — it does not affect warranty rights, but it does put your model and serial number on file, which is what consumer care asks for first. The model number is on the back of the appliance and the serial number on the bottom.

If they say no
A first refusal is not the end — most claims that get paid are the ones that got answered a second time. The ladder that works:
- Reply in the same thread quoting the exact policy line above, with your order number and the date. Ask for a supervisor or a formal complaint reference.
- Escalate to an executive contact if support stalls — a specific, documented request outperforms an angry one.
- Use your payment rail: a card chargeback for "not as described" or "item not received" (typically within 60 days of the statement under the US Fair Credit Billing Act, and up to 120 days under card-network rules — confirm the exact window with your issuer), or a PayPal dispute.
- For lost or damaged shipments, file a claim with the carrier directly.
- Escalate externally: the selling platform's guarantee, BBB, your state attorney general, or the FTC. Small claims is the last resort.
