All-Clad warranty & return policy — and how to actually claim it

Every line below is quoted from All-Clad's own published policy and linked to the source. If something you bought is covered, Owed's agent can draft and send the claim for you.

Warranty

Lifetime coverage

All-Clad warrants its cookware, cutlery, accessories and bakeware against defects in material, construction or workmanship for the lifetime of the product, running from purchase or delivery if later, to you as the original purchaser. Two conditions gate everything. The item must have come from All-Clad or an All-Clad authorized retailer — All-Clad says plainly it cannot control the quality of product sold by unauthorized sellers and does not cover it — and you must have a valid proof of purchase, without which All-Clad states it is not obliged to replace anything. The exclusion that catches most owners is care: failure to follow the care and use instructions is excluded, and All-Clad names cleaning in the dishwasher and soaking in water as its examples. Also outside the warranty are normal wear and tear including stains, discoloration, dents, scuffs and scratches; warping or metal separation from high or prolonged empty heat; nonstick deterioration from misuse; and damage from scouring pads, steel wool, abrasive cleaners or bleach. Approved claims are repaired or replaced free, and if your item is discontinued you get one of equal or greater value.

In their own words

All-Clad Metalcrafters, LLC ("All-Clad") warrants that any All-Clad cookware, cutlery, accessory or bakeware item purchased by you, the original purchaser, from All-Clad or an All-Clad authorized retailer will be free from defects in material, construction, or workmanship for the lifetime of the product under normal use and following care instructions.

The All-Clad Limited Lifetime Warranty

Because All-Clad is unable to control the quality of All- Clad products sold by unauthorized sellers, unless otherwise prohibited by law, this warranty does not cover All-Clad cookware, cutlery, accessory, or bakeware products purchased from unauthorized retailers.

The All-Clad Limited Lifetime Warranty — unauthorized sellers

All-Clad shall not be obliged to replace any product which is not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase from All-Clad or an All-Clad authorized retailer.

The All-Clad Limited Lifetime Warranty — proof of purchase

Upon approval of your claim, All-Clad will repair or replace the item without charge. If the replacement product is no longer in production, one of equal or greater value will be given.

The All-Clad Limited Lifetime Warranty — remedy

Failure to follow care and use instructions. For example, cleaning in the dishwasher or soaking in water.

  • Damage from after-purchase sharpening, personalization, modification, or unauthorized modification or repair
  • Failure to follow care and use instructions — All-Clad names dishwasher cleaning and soaking in water
  • Normal product wear and tear, including stains, discoloration, dents, scuffs and scratches
  • Discoloration, warping or metal separation from high or prolonged heat exposure when empty, and nonstick deterioration from misuse or abuse
  • Minor imperfections and colour variations, which All-Clad classifies as normal
  • Commercial, professional or workplace use
  • Any glass or porcelain in the product; dust or insects inside the product

How to file

Contact All-Clad Consumer Service at 1-800-255-2523 (US) for a warranty evaluation and a return authorization number before sending anything. Have valid proof of purchase from All-Clad or an authorized retailer — All-Clad states it has no obligation to replace a product that arrives without one. Frame the claim as a defect in material, construction or workmanship rather than condition, since stains, discoloration, dents, scuffs and scratches are all classified as normal wear and tear.

If they say no

A first refusal is not the end — most claims that get paid are the ones that got answered a second time. The ladder that works:

  1. Reply in the same thread quoting the exact policy line above, with your order number and the date. Ask for a supervisor or a formal complaint reference.
  2. Escalate to an executive contact if support stalls — a specific, documented request outperforms an angry one.
  3. Use your payment rail: a card chargeback for "not as described" or "item not received" (typically within 60 days of the statement under the US Fair Credit Billing Act, and up to 120 days under card-network rules — confirm the exact window with your issuer), or a PayPal dispute.
  4. For lost or damaged shipments, file a claim with the carrier directly.
  5. Escalate externally: the selling platform's guarantee, BBB, your state attorney general, or the FTC. Small claims is the last resort.
