Le Creuset splits this line in two. Lever models and metal wine corkscrews and wine accessories are covered for ten years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship; non-metal corkscrews, non-metal wine accessories and glassware get five years. The warranty begins on the date of purchase by the original owner whether it was bought for themselves or received as a gift — so a gifted corkscrew is covered from the day the giver bought it, not from when you opened it. Excluded are normal wear and tear, maintenance, and the consequences of abuse or commercial use such as in a restaurant or bar. As with all Le Creuset lines, a defective product is replaced free of charge, or with a similar product or one of equivalent value if yours is out of production, and the same colour cannot be guaranteed.

Establish which half of the line your item falls in before you file — metal and lever models get ten years, non-metal and glassware five — because that determines whether you are still in the window at all.
