Keurig warrants a brewer free of defects in materials or workmanship under normal home use for one year from the date of purchase, repairing or replacing it at its option once you show proof of the purchase date. One term here is better than most of the category: if Keurig sends a replacement brewer, a new full one-year warranty applies to that replacement — it does not inherit the remainder of the original clock, and it does not reset to a shorter service period the way several competitors do. The replacement itself may be new or reconditioned. The clause that costs people claims is the pod rule: Keurig states that damage or malfunction resulting from non-Keurig pods and accessories may not be covered, or may trigger a service fee if the damage is determined to be caused by that use. Coverage applies only to brewers operated in the United States and Canada. Registration is recommended so your purchase information is on file, but the warranty turns on proof of purchase date.

Call Keurig Customer Service at 1.866.901.BREW (2739) before doing anything else and obtain a Return Materials Authorization number — brewers returned without an RMA number are sent back to the sender without being serviced. Have proof of the date of purchase ready, since that is what triggers coverage. If a third-party pod or accessory is involved anywhere in the history of the machine, expect that to be the first thing raised; be ready to describe the failure in terms that separate it from pod-related damage.
